Provide A Great Play Area At Your Country Home

Living out in the country is a pretty special place to raise your children. Besides being surrounded by nature and having a glimpse of the animals in your woods, there's a certain feeling of peace as you keep your children away from too much hustle and bustle. Providing a great play area at your country home will just be the frosting on the cake.

The Backyard - Whether you've decided to create a specific play place or you've chosen to leave things natural, it will be a good idea to add paving.

  • Designate one large area in which your kids can have a basketball hoop. Buy a system where the height of the basket can be changed, so little ones and older children can both play.
  • Extend the basket ball court into an area where kids can roller skate or roller blade. An added amount of fun will be when you provide a basket of sidewalk chalk so your kids can decorate the pavement. A hopscotch setup would be wonderful, too.
  • If you want to go the extra mile, ask a paving contractor (such as Fayetteville Contractors Inc) to create paths on your acreage where kids can safely ride their bikes. The longer the paths, the better. And, at different points, add things like a picnic table, a place to play horseshoes, and even a little fairy village.

A Family Setting - While you're at it, get your contractor to make a patio area. Consider concrete that can be faux painted, either by you or by trained artisans. Decorated concrete can take on the appearance of Mexican tile, European pebble roads, rustic country wooden planks, or elegant marble. Whether you're doing it yourself or you're hiring a professional, you can get as creative as you want, giving it the look of an impressionistic painting, like Monet's field flowers.  Don't worry about how the concrete will wear. It's really easy to care for, as you can simply sweep it and hose it off with a sprayer. The older it gets, the prettier it gets, as it seems to attain a beautiful old world look.

The Pool Area - Do you have a swimming pool? Consider surrounding it with flagstone or brick. This will eliminate a lot of debris ending up in your pool. Beautify your pool area with beautiful potted plants and bird houses.

Have fun as you and your children enjoy the wonderful home you have created.
